Instructor:

Terry has photographed architecture, fashion, industrial, product, public relations, food and annual reports around the world for more than 32 years. His photographs have appeared internationally in countless publications, brochures, postcards and billboards.

His 32 year tenure as senior photographer at Bochsler Photographic enabled him to help design and construct their new 10,000 sq. ft. self contained facility that eventually employed 18 people with a variety of specialties and functions, serving the advertising and marketing industry.

“Selling an idea” is often the name of the game and Terry’s ability to articulate conceptual ideas, linked with forward thinking about value added client benefits usually closed the deal. Working in the advertising field also gave him the opportunity to develop skills in graphic design, typography, printing processes, copy writing and marketing strategies.

As soon as digital image capture became the tool of choice, Terry and his staff were amongst the first studios to recognize its potential and actively promoted and proved the technology to doubting clients. He used the Phase One system for the bulk of our work and in due course discontinued their wet lab operation to install Photoshop workstations and digital printers.

Terry has garnered awards for outstanding imagery in film, print, advertising and art.
He has received the coveted Yousuf Karsh Award in Recognition of Lifetime Achievement in Photographic Competition.

He has his Craftsman Photographic Degree from the Professional Photographers of America and his Master of Photographic Arts with 10 Masters Bars from the Professional Photographers of Canada.

Terry has also had the major distinction of being awarded the “Ontario Professional Photographer of the Year” in 1996, 1995, 1984, 1982, a distinction not matched by any other photographer in the 124 year history of the Professional Photographers of Ontario.
