Lodging and Meals (2008)

The most successful photographic schools all have one thing in common... they provide a venue where participants want to stay and "talk shop" all night. Students and instructors will be giving 110% and will need a place to unwind and discuss the day’s activities with like-minded people. The Niagara School has found the perfect home by securing Brock University.

Vallee Residence Accommodation:
The Vallee Residence offers 250 single hotel-style guestrooms. Each guestroom is furnished with 1 single bed, desk and lamp, dresser, wardrobe and telephone. Washrooms are ensuite, with one four-piece washroom being accessible from each of two single bedrooms. An elevator is located in the residence lobby for easy access to all floors. Also located in this complex are seven (7) lounges plus the Conference Centre main office which is open 24 hours a day for guests assistance and check in. The residence style lodging is clean and comfortable. All residences are equipped with full linens, towels, face cloths, bar soap, glasses and ice buckets. Linens are not changed during the week. Guests should be reminded to bring shampoo, hair dryers, clocks, bathrobes, slippers and an extra large bath towel (The towels supplied by Brock are pretty small).

Private Bathroom Option:
You can reserve a Private Bathroom for an additional $ 150.00 for the week, above regular residence & meal plan, that’s right for $ 150.00 extra you do not have to share a bathroom.

Off Campus Accomodation:
For those who don’t wish to reside on campus, NSI recommends the Four Points Sheraton Hotel located just across the street from Brock University, 3530 Schmon Parkway, Thorold, On. You will however still have to particiapate in our campus meal plan.

To book accomodations at the Sheraton Hotel, contact the reservations desk directly at 905-984-8484 ,1-877-848-3782 and identify yourself as a Niagara School of Imaging participant. We have a block of rooms reserved until July 16th,2008. The room is a one bedroom suite with two double beds and the living room has a pull out couch. It is a very busy time for the hotel at this time of year, so if partaking of the off campus accommodation do so early.

All residences are equipped with telephones, that allow room-to-room calling, plus complimentary local, toll-free and incoming long-distance calling. Internet access is available at no additional cost by “Ethernet cable” in the residence rooms and by wireless access in teaching areas. Internet access code numbers are made available through the Brock registration desk after check in with NSI registration.

Conference delegates staying in residence may park their cars in the overnight lots (M1 lot) for no additional fee, while non-residents must pay a daily fee with no in and out privileges. All lots are patrolled 24 hours by Brock University Police.

The university's dining room is recognized as one of the finest of it’s kind in the university system. The conference centre food services in the dining hall, banquet rooms, lounges and out-of-door BBQs are provided by Sodexho Marriott Services. Most conference meals offer all-you-can-eat menus in our dining rooms.
